Hagar Qim on the Summer Solstice
On this one day of the year,
the Summer Solstice,
the sunlight comes through the below hole in the wall and
casts a circular beam on the facing stone tablet. It becomes a crescent
and then disappears. Notice how the hole is carved in a slanted
direction.
