My Trip to Malta
The area of Borgo in Vittoriosa where the many medieval villas for the original Knights still stand is across the bay from Valetta. It is now one of the poorest areas in Malta, the rents are low but renovation is disallowed and so residents have lived there for many years. Prior to the second World War it was a very fashionable area to live. Residents may now be poor but they keep their streets and homes immaculately clean, civic pride is probably highest in this group of Maltese.
