Today we take the cravan to Abydos and Dendura, we drive along a canal, there are trees full of white egrets! Fields full of egrets and farmers, lots of corn and hay, the mountains so vast in the distance. We are going north, this morning from our terrace we watched hot air balloons over the Nile.
I look over Naga's Oasis trip and the photos are stunning. I hear you can also do 3 months in the desert with the Bedouins all the way to Timbuktu if you want to. I hate the convoy because you can't stop like we did on our way to Saqqara and Memphis (we wanted to see the water buffalo and ended up with a bady goat in the van!!). Ibis, the Nile, canals, farms, farmers, small villages, children, donkeys, fields and markets, the beautiful countryside.
This is peaceful living. To spend a year in Luxor, writing and living on the cheap would be paradise. I hope to save enough to do this and write a book. I could be happy heare. Writing, painting, drawing, taking photos. To spend time with an Egyptological dig would be amazing, say as a reporter or apprentice. Dreams.
Time slows down here.
Abydos and Dendura were beautiful. Click here to see some of the pictures of Dendura. Abydos is the Temple of Seti I, and it is so big and complex. Click here for the pictures from Abydos.
